Chicago Fence Pros has been installing and repairing fences across Chicago and the surrounding areas since 2009. We work on the tight lots and narrow alleyways of the bungalow belt, where a well-built fence closes the gap between your house and the rear garage, and where the city's setback and height rules shape what goes in your front yard.
Homeowners in Chicago, 60603 and beyond call us because we show up on time, we work from your existing survey, we know what the city allows, and we leave your property clean. We are fully insured, AFA Member Installers, and we do the work ourselves. No subcontractors, no guessing.
Fence Installation and Repair in Chicago
Chicago's housing stock is dominated by single-family brick homes built between 1910 and 1930, many sitting on narrow lots that open onto alleys. The fence line runs short, often between the house and the garage, and the work must respect both the city's setback rules and the practical constraints of tight access. Storm damage, frost heave, and age wear down posts and rails. Gates drag on concrete or settle unevenly. Pickets split or rot at the ground line where moisture collects.
We have been serving Chicago and the surrounding areas since 2009. Our crews know the neighborhood rules, the common failure points, and how to build a fence that lasts. We install wood and vinyl privacy fences, chain link, aluminum and ornamental iron, automatic gates, and pool barriers. We repair, replace, and restore. We assess storm damage and help you document it for your insurance company. We pull permits where the city requires them, and we always call 811 before we dig.

How a Fence Job Works in Chicago
Step 1: Free on-site assessment. We come to your property, listen to what you need, check the existing fence line or survey, confirm the city's height and setback rules for your lot, and look for any HOA restrictions or deed covenants that govern material or color. We give you a realistic estimate and explain what the work includes.
Step 2: The work itself. Our crews mark the post locations, call 811 for utility locates, and dig post holes to frost depth set in concrete. We cut and install rails, stringers, and pickets or panels to the line you identify. For wood, we use pressure-treated pine or cedar depending on your budget and preference. For vinyl, we work with rigid PVC that resists warping. For chain link, we stretch the mesh tight and secure it with tension bands and stretcher bars. For gates, we hang them plumb, square, and level, and we install hardware that holds them secure.
Step 3: Cleanup and walkthrough. We haul away all scrap, level the ground, and leave your property ready to use. You walk the fence with us, and we answer any questions.
Wood privacy fence runs from $32 per linear foot for pressure-treated pine up to higher costs for cedar or custom board-on-board layouts. Vinyl and PVC fence starts at $44 per linear foot. Chain link is the most affordable option, starting at $18 per linear foot, and works well for side yards and temporary enclosures. Aluminum and ornamental iron fencing runs $48 per linear foot and up. Gate installation and repair start at $550. Automatic driveway gates start at $3,400. Fence repair for a leaning section or broken rails starts at $525. Storm damage assessment is free. The final cost depends on the fence length, the material, site access, the condition of existing posts, and whether we are repairing or replacing. Call us at (872) 259-5832 for a free estimate. We will walk your property, measure the run, and give you a price in writing.
